Fatwa No. (23237) Q: On the Friday corresponding to 24/8/1425 AH, one of the imams of the mosques delivered a sermon, and the topic of the sermon was the month of Ramadan. Among what he said was a hadith about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in which he says: This hadith. When I asked this preacher about the authenticity of this hadith, he said: The one who narrated it is al-Bukhari, and I took it from a website on the internet. I asked Shaykh Mutib al-Tayyar (may Allah grant him understanding), and he said: He has not heard of this hadith and asked me to write for a fatwa. Therefore, I am directing the question regarding the authenticity of this hadith and whether there is any advice for this preacher? A: This hadith was narrated by al-Tabarani in (Al-Mu'jam al-Awsat 4 90
No. 3688). The text of its chain and its wording is: Narrated to us Tahir ibn Isa ibn Qays al-Misri , he said: Narrated to us Zuhayr ibn Abbad al-Ru'asi , he said: My grandfather Ahmad ibn Abid al-Madini narrated to me, from al-Awza'i , from Ata , from Ibn Abbas , he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:. They did not narrate this hadith from al-Awza'i except Ahmad ibn Abid al-Madini , and he was unique in it ( Zuhayr ibn Abbad ). As for its men: 1- The shaykh of al-Tabarani is Tahir ibn Isa ibn Ishaq , known as Ibn Qays
al-Misri , who died in the year 292 AH, and he was not mentioned except by Ibn Makula in (Al-Ikmal 1 296), and he said about him: (And he was trustworthy). 2- Zuhayr ibn Abbad al-Ru'asi : Ibn Abi Hatim said in his book (Al-Jarh wa al-Ta'dil 3 591): The cousin of Waki' ibn al-Jarrah , he narrated from Abd al-Aziz al-Darawardi , and Utayb ibn Bashir , and Yazid ibn Ata al-Yashkuri , and Fadl ibn Iyad , and Ibn Uyaynah , and Ibn Wahb . My father wrote from him in Damascus and in Egypt on the first journey, and he narrated from him. My father was asked about him, and he said: (His origin is Kufan and he is trustworthy). He has a detailed biography in (Tahdhib al-Tahdhib 3 344). 3- Ahmad ibn Abid al-Madini : No biography is found for him. The rest of its men are well-known ( al-Awza'i , from Ata , from Ibn Abbas ). Al-Haythami said in (Al-Majma' 3 144): ( Al-Tabarani narrated it in Al-Awsat, and he said: He did not narrate it from al-Awza'i except Ahmad ibn Abid . I said: And I did not find anyone who wrote a biography for him, and the rest of its men are reliable). And based on this, it is a very weak hadith; because in its chain there is the defect of uniqueness and obscurity.
Whoever protected himself in the month of Ramadan and did not drink an intoxicant and did not accuse a believing innocent person, Allah will marry him to a hundred houris every night and Allah will prepare for him in Paradise a palace of gold and jasper; if the world were joined with it, it would be like the resting place of a female goat. And whoever drank an intoxicant in it, Allah will nullify his work for a full year.
No. 3688). The text of its chain and its wording is: Narrated to us Tahir ibn Isa ibn Qays al-Misri , he said: Narrated to us Zuhayr ibn Abbad al-Ru'asi , he said: My grandfather Ahmad ibn Abid al-Madini narrated to me, from al-Awza'i , from Ata , from Ibn Abbas , he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Indeed, Paradise adorns itself from year to year for the month of Ramadan, and indeed, the houris adorn themselves from year to year for the month of Ramadan. When the month of Ramadan enters, Paradise says: O Allah, make for us in this month inhabitants from among Your servants. And the houris say: O Allah, make for us in this month husbands from among Your servants. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever protected himself in the month of Ramadan and did not drink an intoxicant in it, and did not accuse a believer in it of slander, and did not commit a sin in it, Allah will marry him to a hundred houris every night, and build for him a palace in Paradise of gold, silver, jasper, and emerald. And if the world were gathered and placed in that palace, it would not be in it except like the tethering place of a female goat in the world. And whoever drank an intoxicant in it, or accused a believer in it of slander, and committed a sin in it, Allah will nullify his work for a year. So fear the month of Ramadan, for it is the month of Allah. If you are negligent in it, He has made for you eleven months in which you enjoy yourselves and take pleasure, and He has made for Himself the month of Ramadan. So beware of the month of Ramadan.
قال النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - : فمن صان نفسه شهر رمضان فلم يشرب فيه مسكرًا ، ولم يرم فيه مؤمنًا بالبهتان ، ولم يعمل فيه خطيئة ، زوجه الله كل ليلة مائة حوراء ، وبنى له قصرًا في الجنة من ذهب وفضة وياقوت وزبرجد ، ولو أن الدنيا جمعت فجعلت في ذلك القصر لم تكن فيه إلا كمربط عنز في الدنيا ، ومن شرب فيه مسكرًا أو رمى فيه مؤمنًا ببهتان ، وعمل فيه خطيئة أحبط الله عمله سنة ، فاتقوا شهر رمضان فإنه شهر الله ، أن تفرطوا فيه فقد جعل لكم أحد عشر شهرًا تنعمون فيها وتتلذذون ، وجعل لنفسه شهر رمضان ، فاحذروا شهر رمضانal-Misri , who died in the year 292 AH, and he was not mentioned except by Ibn Makula in (Al-Ikmal 1 296), and he said about him: (And he was trustworthy).
