Marrying the wife's maternal aunt through breastfeeding

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: I inform you that I am a married man and I wish to marry another woman, but this woman is the maternal aunt of my wife through breastfeeding. That is, my wife’s mother was breastfed by the mother of the woman I wish to marry, five times. Does the Shari'ah permit me to marry her? Please issue a ruling on this.
A: If the situation is as you described, that your wife’s mother was breastfed by the mother of
the woman you wish to marry, five separate times within the first two years, then it is not permissible for you to marry this woman; because she is the maternal aunt of your wife through breastfeeding, and marrying a woman and her maternal aunt together is forbidden; based on what is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
One should not combine a woman and her father's sister, nor a woman and her mother's sister in marriage.لا يجمع بين المرأة وعمتها ولا بين المرأة وخالتها
Sahih Muslim 1408a
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And it is the same whether the combining of a woman with her paternal aunt or maternal aunt is through blood relation or breastfeeding; based on what is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
What is rendered illegal because of blood relations, is also rendered illegal because of the corresponding foster-relations.الرضاعة تحرم ما تحرم الولادة
Sahih al-Bukhari 3105
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And in another narration from A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her): that her paternal uncle through breastfeeding, whose name was Aflah , asked permission to enter upon her, so she hid from him. She informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said:
Don't observe veil from him for he is Mahram (one with whom marriage cannot be contracted) on account of fosterage as one is Mahram on account of consanguinity.لا تحتجبي منه فإنه يحرم من الرضاعة ما يحرم من النسب
Sahih Muslim 1445i
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. This is the wording of Muslim , and Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated something similar.
