Giving the female more than the male's inheritance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q40: There is a custom and practice in Sumatra Island where the female's inheritance is more than the male's inheritance. What is our obligation regarding this custom?
A40: The legal rulings were legislated by Allah for His servants, and He clarified them in His Noble Book or on the tongue of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). It is obligatory to submit to them and act upon them, and no one has the right to object to them or change them; for they are a perfect legislation for the Ummah in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and after him until the Hour. This includes inheritance, so it is obligatory to act in accordance with it, including the preference of the male over the female in cases where such preference exists, such as children, the children of sons, and brothers from both parents or from the father. For Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has
explained this detail in His Noble Book, and the scholars of the Muslims have reached consensus on it. Allah has warned against laxity in this matter, and He concluded the verse of inheritance with His saying:
And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits - He will put him into the Fire to abide eternally therein, and he will have a humiliating punishment.
[An-Nisa 4:14]
. Therefore, it is obligatory to act in accordance with this, and the Muslim must adhere to it for himself, raise awareness among people about it, and explain the legal ruling to them, making it clear that they cannot afford to contradict it, deviate from it, or abandon it. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.
[Al-Ahzab 33:36]
, and He says:
But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.
[An-Nisa 4:65]
