The work of an advertising and publicity company and earning from it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: We bring to your attention that we are an advertising and publicity company whose income depends on a portion of the value of the advertisements that are executed, and since
some of our clients see that we should publish their advertisements in some Islamic booklets, promotional newsletters, tapes, and the like, we have decided to seek your ruling on the legitimacy of this work and whether there is any doubt regarding the revenue derived from it, so that we can base our decision on our clients' requests.

A: The ruling on what the questioner asked about depends on two matters: First: the legitimacy of the activities of those companies that publish advertisements. Second: that publishing those advertisements leads the questioner's company to distribute a larger number of Islamic books, newsletters, and tapes. If these two conditions are met, then no obstacle appears to the permissibility of publishing those advertisements, given the benefit in doing so, provided that those advertisements are truthful and free from deception and fraud. Based on this, the revenue arising from publishing those advertisements is permissible revenue.
