Zakah: Is it due upon the mere gathering of the harvest, or after separating the grain from the husk?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 15901 )
Q5: Is it obligatory for the farmer to pay zakah upon the mere gathering of the harvest, or after separating the grain from the husk?
A5: Zakah becomes obligatory for the farmer when the grain hardens and the fruit begins to ripen, and he pays it after the grains and fruits have been cleaned and purified; based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
give its due [zakah] on the day of its harvestوَآتُوا حَقَّهُ يَوْمَ حَصَادِهِ
[Al-An'am 6:141]

And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
