Zakat on grains
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 10910 )
Q3: A farmer planted barley or wheat, and when it reached the harvest stage, he sold it; on whom is the zakat due? A farmer planted barley or wheat and sold it after it sprouted; on whom is the zakat due? A farmer planted barley or wheat and grazed sheep in it, whether he is the buyer or not; is zakat due on him, and on whom is it due?
A3: A. Zakat is obligatory on the seller. B. There is no zakat due at the time of sale. C. There is no zakat due unless some of it remains until its grain hardens and it reaches the nisab, in which case its owner must pay zakat on it at that time. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
