Fatwa No. ( 14198 )
Praise be to Allah alone, and may peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. After that: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed what was sent to His Eminence the President General from His Highness the Deputy Minister of the Interior, in his letter No. (69199) dated 6/10/1411 AH, which was referred to the Committee by the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars, No. (4245) dated 20/10/1411 AH. His Highness requested the Committee to consider the request of the questioner (M. A. A. Sh.) to be permitted to visit the grave of his daughter (A.) in Abi 'Aris in Jizan .
After the Committee's study of the inquiry, it responded that it is not permissible for the inquirer to travel to visit the grave of his deceased daughter in the Kingdom. It is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not travel for the sake of visiting any mosque except three: al-Masjid al-Haram, al-Masjid al-Aqsa, and this mosque of mine.لا تشد الرحال إلا إلى ثلاثة مساجد، المسجد الحرام والمسجد الأقصى ومسجدي هذا
Sahih Ibn Hibban 9:177
. It is sufficient for him to make du'a' for her while he is in his own country.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
