Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 16388 )
Q 2: What is the ruling on visiting graves on the third, fifteenth,
and fortieth days after a person’s death? Knowing that these customs are prevalent in our country.
A 2: Visiting graves is prescribed for men if the intention is to take a lesson, draw a warning, and make du'a' for deceased Muslims. It has no specific time, and designating a specific time for it is a religious innovation (bid'ah) that is not permissible to do, because there is no evidence for it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
