The claim that the Tarawih prayer is not a congregational prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 17882 )
Q1: The professor said that the Tarawih prayer is not a congregational prayer?
A1: The Sunnah for the Tarawih prayer is that it be performed in the mosque in congregation, based on the action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in some nights of the month of Ramadan; where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed with the Companions for three nights, and on the fourth night the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not come out and said:
I was afraid that this prayer (Prayer of Tahajjud) might be made compulsoryخشيت أن تفرض عليكم
Sahih al-Bukhari 924
, and during the caliphate of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), he saw the people praying separately and said: "If I were to gather them under one imam," so he ordered Ubayy to lead the people in prayer; because the cause that prevented the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) from continuing to lead the Tarawih prayer had been averted, and the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) agreed on what 'Umar saw, and they considered it a revival of the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and no scholar of Islam, ancient or modern, is known to have differed on this.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
