Speaking in prayer by mistake

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 20320 )
Q 1: What is the ruling if a person speaks in prayer out of forgetfulness? Does his prayer become invalid?
A 1 : If the one praying speaks out of forgetfulness or ignorance, his prayer does not become invalid, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.رَبَّنَا لاَ تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
, and it is established in ( Sahih Muslim ) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
My nation has been excused for error, forgetfulness, and what they were forced to doعفي لأمتي عن الخطأ والنسيان وما استكرهوا عليه
Sunan ad-Daraqutni 23:30
And regarding the hadith of Mu'awiyah ibn al-Hakam al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him), which Muslim included in his ( Sahih ), he said:
Mu'awiya b. al-Hakam said: While I was praying along with God's Messenger a man in the campany sneezed, and I said, “God have mercy on you!” The people gave me disapproving looks, so I said, “Woe is me! What do you mean by looking at me?” They began to strike their hands on their thighs, and when I saw them urging me to be silent [I became angry], 1 but I said nothing. When God’s Messenger finished his prayer (and I declare that neither before him nor after him have I seen a teacher who gave better instruction than he for whom I would give my father and mother as ransom), I swear by God that he did not scold, beat, or revile me, but said, “No talk to others is fitting during this prayer, for it consists only of glorifying God, declaring His greatness, and recitation of the Qur’an,”بينا أنا أصلي مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذ عطس رجل من القوم، فقلت: يرحمك الله، فرماني القوم بأبصارهم، فقلت: واثكل أمياه ما شأنكم تنظرون إلي؟
Mishkat al-Masabih 978
, or as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the hadith. He did not order him to repeat the prayer, which indicates that he was excused due to ignorance.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
