The first question of the fatwa, and it is ( 16730 )
Q 1: When I pray, and after reciting the final tashahhud, I make du'a' for myself, then for my parents, since they have passed away, and for my brothers and wife. Is this du'a' valid, and is it said in the tashahhud?
A : There is nothing wrong with making du'a' for yourself and your parents after the salutation upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the final tashahhud, and after seeking refuge in Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) from the punishment of Hellfire,
and from the punishment of the grave, and from the trial of life and death, and from the trial of the Dajjal; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged striving in du'a' in it and did not specify, and because of His saying, the Exalted:[Muhammad 47:19] . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
