A Muslim Praying Alone Instead of in Congregation on the Excuse That People Are Accustomed to It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 19329 )
Q 4: Is it permissible for a worker to delay the Zuhr prayer until one hour before the 'Asr prayer ? On the excuse that all the workers in the area are accustomed to doing so, or that the employer refuses to pray except at that time?
- A 4: It is obligatory for the Muslim to perform the prayer in its time in congregation with the Muslims in the mosques, and there is no blame on the congregation for delaying the prayer from the beginning of its time—as long as the time does not end—for a legitimate Shari'ah interest, such as waiting for the heat to subside for the Zuhr prayer, waiting for the congregation, or the like. However, a Muslim praying alone instead of in congregation on the excuse that people are accustomed to it, or because the employer prevents it, is not permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
