Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : She says that her husband maintains the congregational prayer, and she praises Allah for that and is pleased with it as well. She says he is consistent with prayer in the mosque, but he is unable to pray the midday prayer in congregation at the mosque due to the circumstances of his work. He arrives from his workplace, where he is unable to pray in congregation, at around one o'clock in the afternoon. When he arrives, she says, we perform the ablution and pray the midday prayer in congregation. I wait for him so that we may gain the prayer in congregation. Is there any sin in my not praying at the time I hear the midday adhan and waiting for my husband?

The Shaykh : There is no sin in it, but I see that this woman should hasten to pray. If her husband comes and she wishes to pray with him in congregation, her prayer becomes voluntary for her. So, hastening to pray at the beginning of the time is better than waiting for the husband. And if the husband comes, she can pray with him, and her prayer with him will be voluntary.
It remains that she said: Do we catch the congregational prayer?
I say: Yes, there may be virtue in that, but neither he nor she will catch the twenty-seven degrees.
