What is the time for the congregational prayer?

The questioner : What is the time for the congregational prayer?

The Shaykh : What is the time for the congregational prayer?
The time for the congregational prayer is linked to the recommended time for the prayer. If it is recommended to hasten the prayer, meaning to pray it at the beginning of its time, then the congregation should also be prayed at the beginning of the time. If it is better to delay it, then it is better to delay it if possible. The principle is that for the five prayers, hastening and praying early is the norm, as indicated by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he was asked about the best deeds. He answered by saying:
Prayer at its time الصلاة لوقتها
, and in some narrations:
in its first time في وقتها الأول
. However, there are authentic hadiths that exclude the 'Isha' prayer from this virtue. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in some of these hadiths:
If I had not made things difficult for my Ummah, I would have ordered them to delay the 'Isha' prayer until the middle of the night لولا أن أشقَّ على أمتي لأمَرْتهم بتأخير صلاة العشاء إلى نصف الليل
. So, if there is a group that agrees to pray the 'Isha' prayer at the end of its time, that is the best. But most people are not like that. Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not delay the 'Isha' prayer to the end of its time; rather, he usually hastened it, and sometimes he delayed it until sleep overtook some of those sitting in the mosque.
... and this is delaying a prayer for which the principle is to hasten, such as the Zuhr prayer. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he ordered to cool down before praying, so he said:
Cool down in the prayer أبردوا في الصلاة
, and in a narration:
Cool down in the Zuhr prayer; for the heat is from the scorching of Hell أبردوا بصلاة الظهر ؛ فإن الحرَّ من فيح جنهم
. In this case, it is recommended to delay the congregational prayer due to the intense heat. This ruling is clear, and although ... many scholars ... this ruling is clear that it is specific to hot countries, where ... the heat is intense and people generally suffer when they go out at midday. Here, it is recommended to delay the Zuhr prayer from its first time, for the principle is that it should be prayed in the first time. But this occurring circumstance, which is the intense heat, led the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to recommend delaying it until close to the time of 'Asr, when the weather begins to cool down ...
