Q 6: Is there a supplication in the prayer after the opening takbir and before the closing salam?
A 6: The supplication in the prayer after the opening takbir is the opening supplication (du'a al-istiftah). When one sits for the final tashahhud, he recites the tashahhud supplication. If he wishes to make a supplication after finishing the tashahhud supplication and before the salam, it is recommended for him to do so. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
