The Opening Supplication Before the Takbir of Ihram

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 20619 )
Q 3: One opens the prayer before the takbir of ihram, and its description is: I direct
my face to the One who created the heavens and the earth, until the end of the supplication, saying: I intend to pray, for example, the Maghrib prayer of three rak'ahs for Allah the Exalted, as an imam, alone, or as a follower. After that, he recites the Basmala aloud.

A 3: The opening supplication in prayer is done after the takbir of ihram, and before the seeking of refuge and the Basmala and the recitation of al-Fatihah. It is done according to the wording reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which is well known in the authentic books of hadith. It is not permissible to verbalize the intention; because the intention is in the heart, and verbalizing it is a religious innovation; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not do it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
