The first question of Fatwa number ( 19930 )
Q3: How do we perform the full ritual bath for major ritual impurity ? And is there a hadith regarding prayer after the full ritual bath for major ritual impurity?
A3 : First: The full ritual bath for major ritual impurity is of two types: complete and sufficient. As for the complete one: it includes the obligatory and recommended acts, conforming to the action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). One intends to remove the major ritual impurity, says: In the name of Allah, then washes his hands three times, washes his private parts with his left hand and removes any impurity from them, strikes the ground with his left hand and rubs it, or washes it with water and soap or other cleansers, then performs the ablution for prayer as he does for prayer. After that, he runs his fingers through his hair until the skin is saturated, then pours three handfuls of water over his head, starting with the right side then the left, then pours water over the rest of his body. As for the sufficient full ritual bath: one intends to remove the major ritual impurity, says the name of Allah, rinses his mouth and sniffs water, then covers his entire body with water. Second: There is no specific prayer after the full ritual bath for major ritual impurity; because nothing has been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding that, as far as we know. As for praying two rak'ahs after the ablution, this is supported by the Sunnah from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
