A Woman Praying with Her Husband

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 16682 )
Q: Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to lead her husband and sons in prayer if she is more knowledgeable in religion than they are? And if the opposite is the case, please clarify for me?
A : It is not permissible for a woman to lead men in prayer, and this is the established position in the four schools of jurisprudence. It is not known in the practice of the Muslims that a woman ever led a man or men in prayer, due to the generality of the hadith of Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A people will never succeed who give their leadership to a woman.لن يفلح قوم ولّوا أمرهم امرأة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2262Sahih (Darussalam)
, agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. Leading in prayer is one of the greatest positions of authority, and acts of worship are based on restriction and following [the Prophet], so if a woman were to lead a man in prayer, his prayer would be invalid. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
