Praying over a funeral in an empty space in the cemetery
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first and second questions of Fatwa No. ( 16403 )
Q 1: Is it permissible to pray over a funeral in an empty space in the cemetery?
A 1: It is permissible to pray over a funeral in the cemetery before burial; if it has been buried, one prays over the grave. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed over a grave, and what is prohibited
in the cemetery among the prayers is other than the funeral prayer. As for the funeral prayer, it is an exception to the prohibition, whether the graves are behind the worshippers, in front of them, or to their side.
