The ruling on praying over the funeral of a man who died after the 'Asr prayer and half an hour before the Maghrib adhan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 17841 )
Q 1: A man died after the 'Asr prayer, half an hour before the Maghrib adhan. Is it permissible to pray over his funeral, and what is the solution if he is buried without the funeral prayer? This incident occurred recently, and a deceased person was buried without the funeral prayer because someone said he had heard that it is forbidden at this time,
so they buried the deceased without prayer.

A 1 : It is obligatory to perform the funeral prayer for the deceased mentioned, and burying him without praying over him is an error; because the prohibition of praying over a funeral is when the sun is setting, as is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadith of 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir . It becomes necessary to perform the funeral prayer over the grave of the mentioned deceased until one month after his burial; because the prayer for the deceased is a collective obligation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
