Q: We submit the following question to your eminence: 1- Is it permissible for us to hold the Friday prayer and the festivals in our town without
permission from the relevant authority? And if we do this due to the negligence of the relevant authority, what is our obligation? 2- Do we have the right to hold separate Friday prayers and festivals, claiming that the distances are far? Knowing that means of transportation are available to us, praise be to Allah, what is our obligation? 3- If we do this, meaning: separating the Friday prayer and the two festivals for the sake of tribal partisanship, what is the status of our prayer? Knowing that many common people are unaware of this matter. 4- We are the people of one town, but the matter we suffer from is the tribal partisanship of the groups in these villages; each one wants to pray in the village where his mosque is located for the sake of comfort and not traveling from the village, knowing that means of transportation are available and the mosque is only about 5 kilometers away from them. So we ask Allah, then your eminence, to give us a satisfying answer. May Allah bless your knowledge.
A: It is obligatory to hold the Friday prayer and the two festivals in one place. If you need more mosques and festival prayer grounds, refer to the branch of the Endowments and Mosques in your area; so that they may look into it according to the system followed by them.
