Q 1: If the day of 'Id coincides with Friday, what happens to the Friday prayer and what do we pray?
A 1: If the day of 'Id coincides with Friday, the obligation to attend the Friday prayer is lifted from anyone who has prayed the 'Id prayer, except for the imam. The imam is obligated to establish the Friday prayer with the Muslims who are present with him. It is narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said:Sunan Abi Dawud 1073Sahih (Al-Albani) It was narrated by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah . And whoever does not attend the Friday prayer with the imam, it is obligatory for him to pray the Zuhr prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
