Q 2: What is the criterion for travel, and what is the travel that entitles a traveler to combine and shorten the prayers ? I travel 80 km daily, and some of the young men combine the Zuhr and 'Asr prayers because they claim that this is travel. Do we have the right to combine the prayers over this distance?
A 2: What you mentioned about traveling 80 kilometers daily is travel for which it is prescribed for you to shorten the four-rak'ah prayers, and it is permissible for you to combine the
two prayers while you are traveling on the road. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
