The criterion for travel in which prayers are combined and shortened
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 20010 )
Q 1: I take my wife to her family in the province of al-Nabhanīyah from the province of Unayzah , which is a distance of 130 kilometers one hundred and thirty kilometers, after the 'Asr prayer, and sometimes before the prayer, and I return to my town of Unayzah after the 'Isha' prayer, and sometimes before. Do the rulings of travel apply to us, such as shortening the four-unit prayer and combining the prayers: Zuhr and 'Asr, and Maghrib and 'Isha'? And I go and return on the same day. I hope for clarification and detail, as it is important to me and to many of the brothers?
A 1: If a Muslim travels a distance of eighty kilometers or more, the rulings of travel apply to him, and he may take advantage of the dispensations of shortening the prayer and combining the two prayers; because this distance equals a two-day journey for a mount. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
