Q2: If there is an imam and a ma'mum, and another person comes to pray, and the imam moves forward and the ma'mum moves back, is there anything wrong with that or not?
A2 : The Sunnah, when the congregation is three or more, is for the imam to be in front of them and the ma'mums to be behind the imam; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed Jabir and Jabbar behind him, and when he prayed with Anas and the orphan, he placed them behind him. As for when the ma'mum is one person, it is obligatory for him to be on the right of the imam; because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) made that obligatory. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
