Q: What are the rulings and etiquette of the adhan , and is it permissible for any person to perform it?
A: The adhan is an act of worship and a means of drawing near to Allah the Exalted, and it is among the best of acts of worship, for there is a great reward and recompense in it; for it is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Muwatta Malik 3:3 It is recommended that the adhan be performed by a volunteer, and it must be a sane, just, and trustworthy Muslim man. It is recommended that he be in a state of ritual purity and have a loud voice. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
