The Ruling on Sending Blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) After the Adhan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner says in his second question: Some of the mu'adhdhins in the mosques, after finishing the adhan, say: "O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad, and upon his family and his companions, and peace." What is the ruling of the Shari'ah in your view regarding that?

Answer:
It is prescribed for the believer, after finishing the adhan, to send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Likewise, the listener, after finishing, responds to the mu'adhdhin, and after responding, he sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then he says:
O Allah, the Lord of this complete call and of this prayer, which is going to be established! Give Muhammad Al-Wasila and Al-Fadila and raise him to Al-Maqam-al-Mahmud which You have promised himاللهم رب هذه الدعوة التامة، والصلاة القائمة؛ آت محمدًا الوسيلة والفضيلة، وابعثه مقامًا محمودًا الذي وعدته
Sahih al-Bukhari 4719
This is how it came in the authentic hadiths. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When you hear the Mu'adhdhin, repeat what he says, then invoke a blessing on me, for everyone who invokes a blessing on me will receive ten blessings from Allah; then beg from Allah al-Wasila for me, which is a rank in Paradise fitting for only one of Allah's servants, and I hope that I may be that one. If anyone who asks that I be given the Wasila, he will be assured of my intercession.
Sahih Muslim 384
.
In another hadith, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever after listening to the Adhan says, 'Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-dda` watit-tammah, was-salatil qa'imah, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilah, wa b`ath-hu maqaman mahmudan-il-ladhi wa`adtahu' [O Allah! Lord of this perfect call (perfect by not ascribing partners to You) and of the regular prayer which is going to be established, give Muhammad the right of intercession and illustriousness, and resurrect him to the best and the highest place in Paradise that You promised him (of)], then my intercession for him will be allowed on the Day of Resurrectionمن قال حين يسمع النداء: اللهم رب هذه الدعوة التامة، والصلاة القائمة؛ آت محمدًا الوسيلة، والفضيلة، وابعثه مقامًا محمودًا الذي وعدته؛ حلت له شفاعتي يوم القيامة
Sahih al-Bukhari 614
Al-Bayhaqi (may Allah have mercy on him) added with a good chain of narration:
You do not break Your promise
Muwatta Malik 20:132
This is recommended after the adhan for the mu'adhdhin, and for the one who responds to the mu'adhdhin.
Everyone who hears the adhan says what the mu'adhdhin says: "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," likewise, "Hayya 'ala al-salah," he says: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa bi-Allah," likewise, when he says "Hayya 'ala al-falah," he says: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa bi-Allah," and when he says: "Allahu Akbar," he says: "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar," then he says: "La ilaha illa Allah."
In the other authentic hadith:
he who makes a re- sponse from the heart: There is no god but Allah, he will enter Paradise.
Sahih Muslim 385
This is what is prescribed for every Muslim, man and woman, when they hear the adhan, that they say this, that they say what the mu'adhdhin says, except at the "hi'lah" (the call to prayer and success), where he says: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa bi-Allah."
It is recommended at the two testimonies to say:
I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion and with Muhammad (ﷺ) as Apostle
Sunan Abi Dawud 1529Sahih (Al-Albani)
, it came in the hadith that he said:
If he says this at the two testimonies, his sin will be forgiven.
But he does not say it with the adhan of the mu'adhdhin when he finishes with: "La ilaha illa Allah," the speaker turns off the amplifier, and he says it between himself and his soul, it is not a problem if those around him hear it, but he does not say it with the adhan; rather, the adhan ends at: "La ilaha illa Allah," then after that he turns off the amplifier, and sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) after that between himself and his soul, without it being on the loudspeaker. This is what is prescribed. Yes.

The presenter: Adding supplications after the adhan, like "O noble Shaykh"?

The Shaykh: It is recommended to make du'a' between the adhan and the iqamah
A supplication made between the Adhan and Iqamah is never rejected.
Bulugh al-Maram 16:116
He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A supplication made between the Adhan and Iqamah is never rejected.
Bulugh al-Maram 16:116
It is recommended to increase in du'a' between the adhan and the iqamah, while he is waiting for the prayer.

Question: Are there specific supplications, O noble Shaykh?

Answer: But he supplicates to Allah with what is easy for him, he supplicates to Allah with whatever good supplications he loves.

The presenter: May Allah reward you, O Shaykh.
