Deliberately Abandoning the Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 19544 )
Q 4: I often did not make up many of the prayers, and I sometimes prayed some of them while not in a state of ritual purity , and I do not remember these prayers. Do I have to make them up, and how do I do that?
A 4: It is obligatory for you to repent to Allah with sincere repentance for what has passed. It is prescribed for you to increase in voluntary prayers and acts of worship, and to supplicate between
the hands of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), hoping for Allah’s pardon for you. You should spend the rest of your life maintaining the prayers at their appointed times, with care and attention to them; perhaps Allah will pardon you and accept your repentance. Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeedsإِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ
[Hud 11:114]
And He the Exalted said:
And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.وَتُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
[An-Nur 24:31]
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Repentance wipes out what came before itالتوبة تَجُبُّ ما قبلها
. Your repentance is sufficient for you, and you are not required to make up the prayers you deliberately abandoned; because abandoning them is major shirk, and its expiation is repentance to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) from that. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
