Ruling on making up prayers that were deliberately left before repentance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I am a young man who has repented to Allah, but I wasted many prayers before my repentance. What is the ruling on the missed prayers?

Answer:
If a person does not pray, then Allah guides him and grants him the favor of repentance, and he turns to Allah and prays, then repentance wipes out what came before it, praise be to Allah, and it demolishes what came before it. There is no repetition required of him, and there is no making up required of him. This is the stronger opinion and the correct one among the statements of the scholars.
Repentance wipes out what came before it, and Islam demolishes what was before it, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :
Say to those who have disbelieved [that] if they cease, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for themقُلْ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ يَنْتَهُوا يُغْفَرْ لَهُمْ مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ
[Al-Anfal: 38] And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Islam demolishes what was before it, and migration demolishes what was before it, and Hajj demolishes what was before it, and repentance demolishes what was before itالإسلام يهدم ما كان قبله، والهجرة تهدم ما كان قبلها، والحج يهدم ما كان قبله، والتوبة تهدم ما كان قبلها
.
This is the correct view: that there is no making up required of him; because leaving off prayer is disbelief. So if he repents to Allah and returns to the truth and the correct path, his repentance wipes out what came before that.
