The first question of Fatwa No. ( 19332 )
Q1. I am a woman aged 27, and I have come to suffer from a menstrual blood problem that causes disturbances , as it comes to me for eight days, the first being in the form of drops only, which is not normal in this state, and this is what the doctor confirmed to me, saying that this is due to hormonal disturbances. As for the next eight days, I get normal menstrual blood. My question is: Is it permissible for me to fast and pray during the first eight days? Knowing that I do not become pure except for seven days of every month, and is it permissible for me to have an examination by
of the uterus by a specialist doctor in order to treat this disease?
A1 : During the first eight days, do not leave off prayer and fasting; because the blood that comes out during them is not menstrual blood, but rather the days of menstruation are the next eight days, during which you leave off prayer and fasting, and the mentioned examination is permissible when there is a dire necessity for it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
