Q 4: What is your opinion regarding the fast recitation prevalent in Saudi Arabia , and the recitations prevalent in Egypt , which rely on elongation?
A 4 : It is required to recite the Qur'an correctly in a measured manner, and it is recommended to beautify the voice with it, and fast recitation is good. As for recitation with excessive elongation and melodic intonation, it is not permissible; because it is most similar to singing, and the Qur'an is preserved and honored from such recitation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
