Reading Some Verses of the Qur'an Incorrectly
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 5948 ):
Q1: I am Yemeni and have been in Saudi Arabia for more than ten years. I am an orphan of both parents and I love reading the Noble Qur'an. I often read in the mosque, but in some verses I do not pronounce them correctly, and this is because I have never attended school at all. Is it permissible to read the Noble Qur'an in this manner, where some verses are not pronounced correctly? And does this incur a sin on me or not? I hope for clarification on this.
A1: You must try to correct your recitation by learning it from one of the recognized reciters. You should frequently recite what you have mastered in the mosque and elsewhere. When you strive in this, Allah will make your affairs easy. It is authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sahih Muslim 798a . And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
