Q 9: What is the ruling on placing informational and advisory signs in graveyards that mention some guidance for graveyard visitors and funeral processions, and include how to pray over the deceased and warnings against some
innovations and other matters. Please issue a ruling, may Allah reward you.
A 9: It is prescribed to teach people the rulings and etiquettes of visiting graveyards in sermons, general scholarly lessons, and other permissible means. However, writing this on signs placed in graveyards was not the way of the righteous predecessors, so it should not be done. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
