The extent of wiping the head

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17783 )
Q 2: We have noticed during wudu' that some people wipe the head once, while others wipe it three times. Which is more correct ?
A 2: It is prescribed to wipe the head once; based on the hadith of Uthman ibn Affan and Ali and Abdullah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them), for they mentioned in the hadith that he rinsed his mouth, inhaled water into his nose, and washed his face, hands, and feet three times, but they did not mention a number for wiping the head. In some narrations, it is explicitly stated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped his head once. What is narrated that wiping the head three times is anomalous and contradicts the authentic hadith.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
