Restricting oneself to istijmar
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 15835 )
Q 2: Is the prayer valid with istijmar , and is it permissible when there is no water, and if water is found, must istinja' be repeated with it?
A 2: If istijmar is done with a pure substance other than bone or dung, and it consists of three wiping motions that clean the exit, then the prayer is valid with it, and it suffices in place of istinja' with water, even if water is present; due to the action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the consensus of the scholars on this. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
