The imam of the praying congregation who has impurity in his garment that he is unaware of

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 16369 )
Q 1: I was the imam for a group of people in the 'Isha' prayer, and my garment was impure, but I did not know that until after the two taslims. I then remembered that my garment was impure, so I asked someone to lead the people in a second prayer. Some of the people said that the ma'mums do not have to repeat the prayer, and only the imam has to repeat it. What is the ruling in this matter?
A 1: If you did not know about the impurity in your garment until after the taslim, or if you knew before the taslim but then forgot it and did not remember it until after the taslim, then your prayer and the prayer of the ma'mums are valid, and there is no repetition required for anyone. If you knew about the impurity while you were in prayer, and it was possible for you to remove the item containing the impurity, such as a cloak or a head covering, then remove it and complete your prayer. If that is not possible, then leave the prayer and appoint someone to complete the prayer with them. This is because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when Jibril informed him that there was impurity in his sandals, removed them and continued in his prayer. And because 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), when he was stabbed while in prayer, appointed 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (may Allah be pleased with them all) to complete the prayer.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
