Uncovering the head in prayer

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19381 )
Q 2: Is covering the head among the sunnahs of prayer? That is, wearing the turban or the cap or other things from the sunnahs of prayer? Because in reality, they criticize us for not covering the head in prayer, and for not making du'a with the imam immediately after finishing the obligatory prayer.
A 3: It is a sunnah for the one praying to be in the best and most beautiful form, and to have the most complete purity and cleanliness; due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-A'raf 7:31] meaning: at every prayer, and due to what is reported from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said when asked about one who prays with his head uncovered: (Allah is more deserving of being adorned for than people), so it is recommended to cover the head in prayer; because it is from adornment, and the prayer of one with an uncovered head is valid. As for those who criticize you for not making du'a with the imam after finishing the obligatory prayer, if the intention is making du'a with the imam collectively, whether the imam makes du'a and the ma'mumin say "Ameen" with him, or he makes du'a and the ma'mumin follow him, do not pay attention to this criticism, since making du'a with the imam or anyone else collectively after the obligatory prayer is not a sunnah, but rather a bid'ah (religious innovation), having no basis in the Book of Allah or the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and acts of worship - including du'a - are based on what is prescribed, so it is not permissible to introduce into them what is not part of them, and whoever says otherwise, his statement is rejected against him? Due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih Muslim 1718b However, if each person makes du'a on his own, there is no harm in it, provided it is done without raising the hands after the obligatory prayer.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
