Ruling on a woman uncovering her head for a doctor
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I am suffering from a headache, and the doctors asked me to have an image of the head taken, meaning an X-ray. This procedure requires me to uncover my hair, which is forbidden. What should I do?
I am asking the Shaykh for advice.
Answer:
If there is a need to examine the head, or a part of the body, due to illness, there is no blame in doing so. Allah the Exalted says: [Al-An'am: 119]. So, if there is a need for the doctor to examine your hand, foot, head, or the like, there is no blame in that. And if the illness is minor, and you are able to do without it and leave it alone because the illness is minor and there is an easy remedy for it, then praise be to Allah. Yes.
