A: It is permissible for a man to pray in a garment with short sleeves, but if the sleeve is complete down to the wrist, that is better. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-A'raf 7:31] As for the woman, it is obligatory for her to cover her entire body in prayer, except for the face and hands, if she does not have any men present. If there is a man present who is not a mahram (a relative one may not marry) to her, it is obligatory for her to cover her entire body, including the face and hands. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
