The Adhan Is Not in Its Time, but the Prayer Is in Its Time

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 17879 )
Q 1: We pray in the time, but the adhan is not in the time . Does the prayer suffice, or must we repeat the prayer?
A 1: The five prayers have prescribed times in which their performance is not valid except within them. Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.إِنَّ الصَّلاَةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَابًا مَوْقُوتًا
[An-Nisa 4:103]
meaning: an emphasized obligation, established with the establishment of the Book, timed in specific times. Therefore, the entry of the prayer time is a condition for its validity. Whoever prays before the time enters, his prayer is invalid; because he performed it in a time other than the time in which Allah the Exalted obligated it, so it was not in accordance with what Allah prescribed, and what is so is invalid. If you know that your past prayers were before the time entered, you must repeat them all. Then, if that was due to your deliberate intent or negligence,
you must repent, seek forgiveness, and feel remorse for what came from you, and resolve not to return to such a thing. And if it was due to ignorance of the ruling or the time, there is no blame on you; but you are obligated to repeat them. It is not a condition for the validity of the prayer that the adhan for it be after the entry of its time; rather, it is valid if it is prayed in its specified time in the prescribed manner. And the one who called the adhan before the time entered must repeat the adhan, unless he finds an adhan from another after the time entered that takes its place and achieves the intended purpose. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
