The Wording of the Takbir
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 18573 )
Q 3: An imam sometimes says: (Ya Allah Akbar) instead of: (Allahu Akbar), and he has been pointed out to this, so what is the ruling on his prayer?
A 3: If the one praying says the takbir for the opening of the prayer with the phrase: (Ya Allah Akbar), then his prayer and the prayer of those behind him are not valid, and it is obligatory to repeat it, because this is a call (nida'), and if the takbir with the wording: (Ya Allah Akbar)
was for moving from one pillar to another, his prayer is valid and it is compensated for with the prostration of forgetfulness if he was forgetful. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
