The sixth question from Fatwa No. ( 20308 )
Q 6: When we pray the obligatory prayer, we say before the takbir: “O Allah, I intend to pray the Zuhr prayer, four rak’ahs, facing the noble Ka’bah, the House of Allah the Most Merciful, upon the religion of Ibrahim and the religion of Muhammad, a Hanif, and I am not among the mushrikin?”
A 6: Intention is a form of worship, and acts of worship are based on what has been specified by the Shari’ah. The place of intention is the heart, and vocalizing it is a bid’ah (religious innovation); because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not vocalize it, nor did his successors and his Companions after him. It is established in (al-Bukhari and Muslim) and others that heSahih al-Bukhari 757 , and in the Sunan it is reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Sunan Abi Dawud 61Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani) And in (Sahih Muslim ) it is reported from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), . It is established by mass transmission and the consensus of the Muslims that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) used to begin the prayer with the takbir, and it is not reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he vocalized the intention. Whoever claims that vocalizing it is permissible, his statement is refuted; because of his (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Sahih Muslim 1718b , and in another narration: Sahih Muslim 1718a . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

When you stand for Prayer say Takbir and then recite from the Holy Qur'an (of what you know by heart)
قال للأعرابي المسيء في صلاته: إذا قمت إلى الصلاة فكبر، ثم اقرأ ما تيسر معك من القرآنThe key to prayer is purification; its beginning is takbir and its end is taslim.
مفتاح الصلاة الطهور، وتحريمها التكبير وتحليلها التسليمThat the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to begin the prayer with the takbir and the recitation with: “Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds”

من عمل عملاً ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.
