Fatwa number ( 18610 )
Q: It was mentioned in (Islamic Research Journal), issue number thirty-nine (39), Rabi' al-Awwal - Rabi' al-Thani - Jumada al-Ula - Jumada al-Akhirah, year 1414 AH, page (93). The first question of fatwa number (5957): The hadith mentioned by the Shaykh Nasir al-Din al-Albani when he was verifying (Al-Jami' al-Saghir and its additions) by the Hafith al-Suyuti, and the text of the hadith as he presented it is:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3233Hasan (Darussalam) It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi and Imam Ahmad from Ibn Abbas. Question: Is the hadith authentic? A complete explanation of the hadith is required, and peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings.
A: Imam Ahmad narrated in (Musnad), saying: It was narrated to us by Abdullah , who said: My father narrated to me, and Abu Sa'id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, and Jahdham, meaning al-Yamani, narrated to us, and Yahya, meaning: Ibn Abi Kathir, narrated to us, and Zayd, meaning: Ibn Abi Salam, from Abu Salam, who is Zayd ibn Salam ibn Abi Salam, named after his grandfather, that Abd al-Rahman ibn Iyash al-Hadrami narrated to him, from Malik ibn Yakhmar, that Mu'adh ibn Jabal said: (Musnad Imam Ahmad , vol. 5, p. 243), and al-Tirmidhi also narrated it and said: This is a good, authentic hadith. I asked Muhammad ibn Isma'il - meaning: al-Bukhari - about this hadith, and he said: This is authentic. The methodology of the Salaf regarding such hadiths from the hadiths of the attributes is to let them pass as they came, without asking how, without likening Allah to creation, without denial of the divine attributes, and without figurative interpretation, and belief in them is obligatory, along with the belief that there is nothing like Allah, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

My Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He, came to me last night in the best form, and He said: "O Muhammad, do you know about what the highest assembly is disputing?" I said: "No." So He placed His hand between my shoulders until I felt its coolness between my breasts, so I knew what is in the heavens and what is on earth.
A: Imam Ahmad narrated in (Musnad), saying: It was narrated to us by Abdullah , who said: My father narrated to me, and Abu Sa'id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, and Jahdham, meaning al-Yamani, narrated to us, and Yahya, meaning: Ibn Abi Kathir, narrated to us, and Zayd, meaning: Ibn Abi Salam, from Abu Salam, who is Zayd ibn Salam ibn Abi Salam, named after his grandfather, that Abd al-Rahman ibn Iyash al-Hadrami narrated to him, from Malik ibn Yakhmar, that Mu'adh ibn Jabal said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed us one morning for the Fajr prayer until we almost saw the horn of the sun. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out quickly, called for the prayer, and prayed, being brief in his prayer. When he finished the prayer, he said: "Remain in your rows," then he turned to us and said: "I will tell you what delayed me from you this morning. I stood up at night and prayed what was decreed for me, then I dozed off in my prayer until I woke up, and I found my Lord, Mighty and Majestic, in the best form. He said: 'O Muhammad, do you know about what the highest assembly is disputing?' I said: 'I do not know, O my Lord.' He said: 'O Muhammad, about what is the highest assembly disputing?' I said: 'I do not know, O my Lord.' I saw Him place His palm between my shoulders until I felt the coolness of His fingers between my breasts, so everything became clear to me and I knew. He said: 'O Muhammad, about what is the highest assembly disputing?' I said: 'About expiations.' He said: 'What are the expiations?' I said: 'Moving the feet to the congregations, sitting in the mosques after prayer, and perfecting the ablution when it is difficult.' He said: 'What are the degrees?' I said: 'Feeding food, softness of speech, and praying while people are sleeping.' He said: 'Ask.' I said: 'O Allah, I ask You to do good deeds, to leave what is wrong, to love the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend a trial for a people, take my soul before I am tried. And I ask You for love of You, love of those who love You, and love of a deed that brings me closer to loving You.' And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is the truth, so study it and learn it."
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
