Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of the fatwa number ( 10719 )
Q 6: What is the reckoning that will take place on the Day of Resurrection , and will every nation that received the message be held accountable, or what? And what is the wisdom behind it, given that Allah the Exalted is All-Knowing of the affairs of His creation?
A 6: The reckoning on the Day of Resurrection is the informing of every person of his deeds in the worldly life, his good deeds and his evil deeds, by the reading of his book of deeds when he takes it in his right hand or his left hand, and his confirmation of what is in it. And whoever denies it, his skin and his limbs will testify against him regarding what he did. Allah the Exalted said:
On a Day when their tongues, their hands and their feet will bear witness against them as to what they used to do.
[An-Nur 24:24]
, and He said:
That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn.
[Ya-Sin 36:65]
, and He said:
(19) And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day when the enemies of Allah will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven] assembled in rows, (20) Until, when they reach it, their hearing and their eyes and their skins will testify against them of what they used to do. (21) And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allah, who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.
[Fussilat 41:19-21]
, and the wisdom in that is:
Manifesting the perfection of the justice of Allah the Exalted, and establishing the proof against the servants regarding what they did. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
