The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 15885 )
Q 4: Sometimes I hear about the creed. What is the creed, and what is its importance? I want a comprehensive answer regarding the creed of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his teachings, along with any books you have that discuss this, so that I may be clear about my religion and follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
A 4: The correct creed is: belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and the divine decree, its good and its evil, in accordance with what came in the Book and the Sunnah, and in accordance with the practice of the Salaf (the earliest generations) of the Ummah (the Muslim community) and its imams. The books that
discuss this are numerous. The greatest and most beneficial of them is the Noble Qur'an, for in it is guidance and healing, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:[Al-Isra 17:9]. Among them are the authentic books of hadith, such as al-Bukhari and Muslim and others, as well as (Sharh al-'Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah) by Ibn Abi al-'Izz al-Hanafi , the books of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and his student Ibn al-Qayyim , the books of Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab , and other reliable scholars. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
