Q: We inform Your Eminence that the book (The Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)), attached to this letter, by its author Mustafa Ahmad al-Badawi , has spread across the horizons of our country, and the general Muslim population, as well as those who consider themselves scholars, have been deceived by it; due to the eloquence of its language and its adornment of falsehood, they praised this book, large quantities of it were printed, and it was distributed throughout the country, especially the eastern states of Sudan . We request that you review the book, state the ruling of the Shari'ah regarding it, and send it to us so that we may distribute it to those who were deceived by this
book, and clarify its deviation in creed, as well as the fabricated and weak hadiths that are at the core of the book. May Allah reward you with good for serving the Muslims, advising Islam and the Muslims, and combating falsehood and its people with all their sects. May Allah guide you, straighten your steps, and make His servants benefit from you, and may Allah send prayers upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions .
A: All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them in excellence until the Day of Judgment. As for what follows: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed the aforementioned book and found that it contains numerous scientific errors and observations regarding 'aqidah (creed). Among the most serious are: 1- On page (8), it states: "There is no healing balm or cure for this ailment, namely the disease of heedlessness, except to turn to Allah through His trustworthy Messenger." Then it says: "As Allah Mighty and Majestic commanded us in His saying:[Al-Ma'idah 5:35], so he (peace and blessings be upon him) is the greatest of means and intermediaries." This is an innovated form of seeking nearness to Allah (tawassul), a means to shirk (associating partners with Allah), and an interpretation of the Qur'an other than its
its interpretation, for the *wasilah* mentioned in this verse refers to drawing near to Allah the Exalted through righteous deeds. 2- On page (10), he says: "If not for him (peace and blessings be upon him), Allah the Mighty and Majestic would not have been known, nor would the heavens, the earth, the night, the day, mankind, the jinn, or the angels have been known. All of this is for the sake of the Beloved (peace and blessings be upon him). Among these claims is that Allah said to Adam: 'If not for him, I would not have created you, nor created the heavens or the earth.' This is an exaggeration regarding his right (peace and blessings be upon him) and praise that contradicts his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 329Sahih (Zubair `Aliza'i). 3- On page (21), he composed a poem about calling for aid from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Day of Gathering and Resurrection and seeking rescue from distress. This is associating partners with Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He); for it is none other than Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) who provides aid on the Day of Gathering or rescues from distress. 4- On page (59), he mentioned the poem by al-Nabihani , the beginning of which is:
This is a terrible exaggeration, for that which is above the universe is the Throne of the Most Merciful, and above the Throne is the Lord of the worlds. 5- The book is filled with weak and fabricated hadiths, and poems
containing exaggeration and praise regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Therefore, it is obligatory to warn against this book and not allow its circulation, in order to preserve the 'aqidah (creed) of Muslims from shirk (associating partners with Allah) and bid'ah (religious innovation). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
