Tolerating Some Innovations and Then Prohibiting Them Gradually

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eighth question of Fatwa No. ( 18074 )
Q 8: We have here Muslim Circassians and others, and they have a great deal of religious innovation. Praise be to Allah that He has made it easy for us to dedicate a day to teaching them matters of the religion. Is it permissible to teach the girls, especially those who are adults, and what are the conditions? Is it permissible to tolerate some innovations and then prohibit them gradually?
A 8 : It is not permissible for a man to teach a woman who is not wearing hijab, and it is not permissible for him to teach her in seclusion with her, even if she is wearing a Shari'ah-compliant hijab. A woman is entirely 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered) to a non-mahram man, whereas covering the head and showing the face is not a complete hijab. However, there is no harm in teaching women behind a screen in schools exclusively for women, where there is no free mixing of men and women between the students and the teachers. So you should teach the women you mentioned according to these Shari'ah guidelines, and you will have a great reward for doing so. Indeed, teaching people their religion, warning them against innovations, superstitions, and newly invented matters is among the best of deeds. And whoever guides to good has a reward like that of the doer, without anything being deducted from their rewards, as stated in the authentic Sunnah. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If anyone summons other to follow right guidance, his reward will be equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without their rewards being diminished in any respect on that account; and if anyone summons others to follow error the sin of which sins being diminished in any respect on that account.
Sunan Abi Dawud 4609Sahih (Al-Albani)
Narrated by Muslim . It is not permissible for you to tolerate innovations, nor to make concessions to their practitioners in this regard. However, you must adopt wisdom and good admonition in your da'wah (calling others to Islam)
and avoid harshness and severity, and follow the path you see as most appropriate and effective in conveying the call of Allah the Exalted to them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
