Slaughtering a sheep in Sha'ban

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 16661 )
Q: I have been accustomed since childhood to slaughtering, or more precisely, giving charity in the month of Sha'ban, on any night of this month. Is there anything required of me regarding this matter, or not? Please inform us; may Allah reward you.
A: Charities, especially those that are ongoing, are among the greatest types of drawing near to Allah, but on the condition that they are in accordance with the pure Shari'ah, that they come from lawful earnings, and that they are paid in their prescribed channels, such as: charity for the poor and the needy, building mosques, and so on. And tying charity to a time that is
not specified by the Shari'ah, if a belief is attached to it, is not permissible. Therefore, if this act in the month of Sha'ban is done out of a belief in the month itself or in a day of it, it is not among the lawful acts of drawing near. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
