Attributing injustice to Allah is a disparagement and a diminishment of Him

Q: What is Your Eminence’s opinion of some people who say to their daughter when her husband dies and she has children, or when a disliked event happens to any person, using phrases such as saying: “Allah has wronged her” or “He has wronged him,” and he says this out of ignorance. Does this speech contain shirk (associating partners with Allah), or what do you say? May Allah reward you with good.
A: Attributing injustice to Allah is a disparagement and a diminishment of Allah the Exalted, for Allah has negated injustice from Himself in His saying:
Indeed, Allah does not wrong the people at all, but it is the people who are wronging themselves.إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَظْلِمُ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا وَلَكِنَّ النَّاسَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
[Yunus 10:44]
, and in the hadith qudsi, Allah the Exalted says:
O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another.يا عبادي إني حرمت الظلم على نفسي وجعلته بينكم محرمًا فلا تظالموا
Sahih Muslim 2577a
, and the decree and destiny of Allah are based on the perfection of His wisdom, justice, mercy, and knowledge. And the testing of some of His servants with the loss of children, or a decrease in wealth, or illness in the bodies is only a trial and an examination from Him, Glorified and Exalted is He; so that it becomes clear who is the patient one who is pleased with His decree and destiny, and who is the one who is distressed and discontent. He said, the Exalted:
And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruitsوَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الأَمْوَالِ وَالأَنْفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ
[Al-Baqarah 2:155]
, then He promised the patient ones in His saying:
but give good tidings to the patient, (156) Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." (157) Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.
[Al-Baqarah 2:155-157]
. It is obligatory for the Muslim to be one who honors Allah and purifies Him of everything that does not befit Him, being certain that He is Wise and All-Knowing, placing things in their proper places
He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.لاَ يُسْأَلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْأَلُونَ
. And whoever attributes injustice to Allah in what Allah decrees and determines for the servant and believes that, he is a disbeliever with a disbelief that takes him out of the religion; because he is denying Allah in what He informed of regarding the negation of injustice from Himself. Exalted is Allah above that by a great exaltation.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
