Q: What is the meaning of the hadith of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Ibn Majah 3860Hasan (Darussalam) Is it that in the noble hadith, one should memorize the names of Allah, or memorize them and act upon them?
A 1: First: The meaning of the restriction mentioned in the hadith is not that Allah has no names other than these ninety-nine; rather, the intended meaning is: whoever enumerates these names will enter Paradise. So the intent is: informing about entering Paradise by enumerating them, not informing about the restriction of the names. Second: The meaning of enumeration in the hadith is: memorizing the names, understanding their meanings, and worshipping Allah with them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
